on August 23, the capital of Ukraine will open full traffic on all lanes of the Podil Bridge. This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
What will change for drivers and passengers:
- on the section from Naberezhno-Khreshchatytska Street to Rusanivski Gardens, 4 lanes in each direction will be arranged for cars, public transport and bicycles;
- on the other section of the highway – 2 lanes in each direction;
- traffic will be opened in both parts of the newly constructed tunnel;
- bicycle paths in both directions with a total length of more than 11 km have been arranged;
- lanes for public transport have been allocated;
- an additional traffic light was installed at the intersection of the Podilskyi Bridge highway and Tsentralna Sadova Street.

A new transfer hub for passengers of the high-speed tram and city electric train has also been completed, which will connect several key traffic flows in the city. The final technical works are now underway.

For reference:
The Podilskyi Bridge over the Dnipro was partially reopened on December 1, 2024, when it was allowed to be used only by cars and city passenger transport. The full opening was postponed due to lengthy construction and maintenance work.
The construction of the bridge, which lasted more than 30 years, was accompanied by high-profile scandals. In particular, according to the Security Service of Ukraine, at least UAH 153 million was stolen during the construction of the infrastructure facility.
Vitali Klitschko emphasized that the launch of all lanes of the Podil Bridge should significantly relieve the capital’s transportation system and improve communication between the right and left banks.
