Families of soldiers of the 153rd separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine complain about the lack of communication with the military, lack of clothing and food. This is stated in the comments of the wives and relatives of the soldiers on the brigade ‘s Facebook page, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

In particular, the wife of a soldier, Olga Mykytenko, spoke about the problems with the supply of soldiers. According to her, her husband and his comrades serve in the Donetsk sector. The guys buy fast food, medicines and chargers on their own.

“The guys themselves are looking for housing closer to the positions where they need to go, they are starting carpools to move around and perform tasks, because there are almost no cars, they buy fast food, medicines, power banks at their own expense,” Mykytenko wrote, commenting on the post of the 153rd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

Another FB user, Olga Fedyk, also complains about the brigade’s provision. She writes that the guys “cover” the needs of the brigade on their own or with the help of volunteers.

“Everything the wives write is true. Why was it necessary to send the guys to Germany for training and train them for one year, and then throw them all into the “meat” as infantry, without equipment, without weapons. The guys are looking for a place to live, buying everything with their own money, looking for volunteers, and raising funds for their brigades,” Fedyk comments.

In addition, relatives of the brigade’s fighters report a long absence of communication with the soldiers – from 5 to 8 days. Among others, this was reported by the mothers and wives of a soldier from the 153rd Brigade, Tetyana Saliy, Lyudmyla Malitska and Maryna Balynska.

At the same time, fb user Tamara Shevchuk notes that there are no problems with food in the 153rd Brigade. She adds that the guys have been equipped with high-quality bulletproof vests. However, she complains about the lack of winter clothing for the soldiers.

“There are no problems with food. They bring more than we need. At first, at the new location, there were small delays, but all brigades have them. As for winter uniforms, they really haven’t been issued, at least in the platoon where my fiancé serves. But they did issue good armor with additional ballistic protection,” she comments.

It is worth noting that the brigade responded to the complaints of the soldiers’ families. They assure that the servicemen are provided with everything they need and explain that living in abandoned houses is a challenge of war.

“The soldiers not only have everything they need, but also create small culinary masterpieces themselves. Soups, borscht, hodgepodge, stew and much more often appear on the table. There is always plenty of fruit and vegetables, both fresh and canned. Homemade cucumbers, tomatoes in jars, eggs, juices and other products add variety and comfort to the diet,” the 153rd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said, posting the relevant photos.

It is known from open sources that the 153rd separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was created in December 2023. In April 2024, the brigade took part in battles in the north of the Kharkiv region, and in August – in offensive battles in the Kursk region.

The brigade is commanded by Colonel Andriy Sotnichenko.
