Demand for cars from China increased by 61%: what Ukrainians chose in August 2024

In August 2024, Ukrainians actively bought cars imported from China. According to the UkrAvtoprom Telegram channel, the total number of cars purchased by Ukrainians in China was more than 1,700, which is 61% more than in August last year, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
Of this number, 1,336 cars were new, an impressive 88% increase. At the same time, Ukrainians bought 371 used cars from China, up 6% year-on-year.
In the new passenger car segment, Chinese cars accounted for 16% of the market.
In the segment of used cars that were registered in Ukraine for the first time, the share of cars from China was 1.4%.

The vast majority of cars imported from China were electric vehicles – 78% of the total.
The most popular models of new cars from China:
- BYD Song Plus – 179 units;
- HONDA M-NV – 169 units;
- VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 – 147 units;
- ZEEKR 001 – 107 units;
- NISSAN Ariya – 83 units.
The most popular models of used cars from China:
- VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 – 51 units;
- CHERY EQ1 – 34 units;
- ZEEKR 001 – 29 units;
- HONDA M-NV – 26 units;
- NISSAN Ariya – 23 units.
There are no BMWs among the most popular cars in Ukraine, which is good, as BMW is recalling 1.5 million cars due to brake problems.
