Novorossiysk port resumes oil shipments after Ukrainian army attack

16 November 22:00

The Novorossiysk port has resumed oil shipments after a pause caused by an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

This was reported by Reuters, citing industry sources, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“Two tankers, the Suezmax-class Arlan and the Aframax-class Rodos, are currently loading oil at the port’s berths,” the article says.

On the night of November 14, Novorossiysk suffered a massive drone attack: residential buildings, a civilian ship and the Sheskharis oil depot were damaged. One person was injured and three crew members were hospitalized.

Reuters reported, citing informed sources, that the Novorossiysk seaport had suspended oil exports after the strike. Against this backdrop, prices on the global market rose: the price of a barrel of Brent rose by 1.6% to $64, and WTI by 1.8% to 59.7%.
