Strengthened Partnership: The Ports of Odessa and Klaipėda Deepen Their Cooperation
3 April 11:17
The Port of Odessa has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Port of Klaipėda (Lithuania). The document provides for the development of a partnership, the exchange of expertise, and support for port infrastructure operations during wartime.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
On April 2, a delegation from the Lithuanian port, led by CEO Algis Latakas, visited the Odessa branch of the State Enterprise “USPA.” The guests were met by the head of the Odessa Sea Port Administration, Dmytro Nazarenko. Representatives of the USPA management also participated in the meeting.
During the talks, the parties discussed the operation of the Ukrainian Corridor, the development of port infrastructure, and opportunities for modernizing facilities, particularly under martial law.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at deepening cooperation and exchanging practical experience.
As Dmytro Nazarenko noted, the support of international partners is crucial for the stable operation of the port sector. According to him, cooperation with the Port of Klaipėda has already yielded tangible results—the Port of Odesa received the necessary technical assistance to ensure uninterrupted operations.
The Odessa branch of the State Enterprise “USPA” thanked its European partners for their support and effective cooperation.
The parties reached an agreement on signing the memorandum in October 2025 during the Baltexpo 2025 exhibition in Poland.
