Air Defense and Missile Industry: Ukraine and Spain Sign Cooperation Agreements

Ukraine and Spain have signed a series of cooperation agreements in the fields of finance, defense, diplomacy, and transportation. This was reported on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez were present during the signing of the documents.
Specifically, the Ukrainian and Spanish sides signed:
- An agreement between the governments on technical and financial cooperation;
- A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Defense on joint production in Spain;
- A Memorandum of Understanding between the EU’s Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine;
- An agreement on the implementation of engineering projects and testing in the field of rail transport between Ukrzaliznytsia and TRIA Ingeniería.

President Zelenskyy clarified that three cooperation documents were signed with Sener Aerospace & Defence.
“I met with the leadership of the Spanish engineering and technology group Sener Aerospace & Defence. Today, our manufacturers signed four cooperation documents here, three of which are specifically with Sener,” he wrote on social media.
According to him, the agreements concern establishing cooperation in the missile industry and air defense.
The President of Ukraine noted that he discussed with the plant’s management the possibilities for production and strengthening Ukraine’s air defense.
“Strengthening air defense and protecting lives is our priority. We are also interested in joint projects in the field of long-range drone production. Ukraine has new developments and is ready to scale them up,” Zelenskyy noted.
The President of Ukraine also expressed hope that all agreements between Ukrainian and Spanish manufacturers will be implemented as soon as possible.
On March 18, the President of Ukraine arrived in Madrid on a visit. There, he is scheduled to meet with King Felipe VI of Spain, as well as Congress of Deputies President Francina Armengol and Senate President Pedro Rollan.
