Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic discussed with Russian leader Vladimir Putin the possibility of a ceasefire in Ukraine during a telephone conversation in October. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Bloomberg.

In an interview with the media, the Serbian president said that he had offered the Russian president to cease fire in Ukraine. But Putin did not show any interest in this proposal.

“All the goals of the special military operation, as he said, will be fulfilled,” Aleksandar Vucic told reporters Putin’s response.

The Serbian president also called on the West to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible.

“Sign a ceasefire as soon as possible. Then there will be ways to achieve long-term peace, but take this first step as soon as possible,” Vucic said.

In addition, the Serbian president believes that the truce between the two sides – Ukraine and Russia – should be “pushed” by the next US president. According to him, it may be difficult for Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy to accept this proposal, but there is no alternative.

According to the Serbian leader, the cessation of hostilities will not only end the bloodshed, but will also be in the “best interests of the West.”
