17 February 11:09

Throughout January, Ukrainians purchased nearly 1,400 passenger cars imported from China. This is 71% more than in the same period last year.

This was reported by [Komersant], citing data from Ukravtoprom.

It is noted that of this number, 1,216 cars (80%) were new, and 181 (25%) were used.

Analysts note that the vast majority of passenger cars from China were electric vehicles – 78% (in January 2025, it was 82%).

The most popular models of new passenger cars of Chinese origin are:

  1. BYD Leopard 3 – 169 units;
  2. BYD Sea Lion 06 – 110 units;
  3. Volkswagen ID.UNYX – 96 units;
  4. Zeekr 001 – 77 units;
  5. BYD Song Plus – 73 units.

The most popular models of used cars from China:

  1. Zeekr 001 – 16 units;
  2. BYD Song L – 16 units;
  3. BYD Song Plus – 14 units;
  4. Buick Envision – 13 units;
  5. BYD Yuan Plus – 9 units.

It should be noted that Chinese cars significantly strengthened their position in the Ukrainian market for new cars in 2025. At the end of the year, their share reached over 50%, with electric cars, which were imported en masse from China on the eve of the end of tax breaks, becoming the key driver of growth.
