Car sales from China soared by 71%: what Ukrainians choose most often

Throughout January, Ukrainians purchased nearly 1,400 passenger cars imported from China. This is 71% more than in the same period last year.
This was reported by [Komersant], citing data from Ukravtoprom.
It is noted that of this number, 1,216 cars (80%) were new, and 181 (25%) were used.
Analysts note that the vast majority of passenger cars from China were electric vehicles – 78% (in January 2025, it was 82%).
The most popular models of new passenger cars of Chinese origin are:
- BYD Leopard 3 – 169 units;
- BYD Sea Lion 06 – 110 units;
- Volkswagen ID.UNYX – 96 units;
- Zeekr 001 – 77 units;
- BYD Song Plus – 73 units.
The most popular models of used cars from China:
- Zeekr 001 – 16 units;
- BYD Song L – 16 units;
- BYD Song Plus – 14 units;
- Buick Envision – 13 units;
- BYD Yuan Plus – 9 units.
It should be noted that Chinese cars significantly strengthened their position in the Ukrainian market for new cars in 2025. At the end of the year, their share reached over 50%, with electric cars, which were imported en masse from China on the eve of the end of tax breaks, becoming the key driver of growth.
