New car sales are on the rise: preferences of private buyers and businesses

In March 2026, approximately 5,900 new passenger cars were added to Ukraine’s vehicle fleet. The majority of sales were to private buyers, who accounted for 64% of the market, while corporate buyers accounted for 36%.

This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" citing “Ukravtoprom.”

Compared to the same period last year, demand grew in both segments. In the private sector, sales increased by 12%, while in the corporate sector, they rose by 26%, indicating increased business activity and the renewal of corporate fleets.

Among private buyers, crossovers and station wagons were the most popular. The Toyota RAV4 took the lead with 374 units sold. The top five also included the Hyundai Tucson, Renault Duster, Volkswagen Touareg, and Mazda CX-5.

In the corporate segment, the Renault Duster holds the top spot with 282 vehicles sold. Following in the ranking were the Volkswagen Touareg, Renault Taliant, Skoda Octavia, and Toyota RAV4.

Thus, March demonstrated growth in demand from both consumers and businesses, as well as the continued popularity of crossovers as a versatile solution for various categories of buyers.

As a reminder, there is renewed talk in Ukraine of a separate tax for electric vehicle owners. The idea is currently at the stage of public discussion and has not yet been formalized as a parliamentary decision.
