Former MP Oles Doniy spoke about attempts to bribe MPs during the vote to appoint Yulia Tymoshenko as prime minister. He said this in a YouTube interview "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to him, representatives of the Party of Regions offered enormous sums of money just to disrupt the support for the candidate.
“I was offered money twice. Once – 10 million dollars for one non-vote on the appointment of Yulia Tymoshenko as prime minister. As far as I know, two people took the money then,” Doniy said in an interview.
According to the politician, it was not about an alternative candidate for the post of head of government.
“There was no talk of a replacement for her. It was the majority – Our Ukraine and Batkivshchyna. And there, the Party of Regions paid… why such huge amounts of money – simply to prevent her from becoming prime minister. It was on the brink. We had 227-228 votes and had to pull out three deputies,” he explained.

The former MP clarified that two deputies were bribed, but the situation with the third was different.
“They pulled out two of them, but they did not find the third. They even found him there, but the person took the money. I don’t know his last name… then he returned it under pressure. It was a huge amount of money. Really huge money – 10 million,” Doniy emphasized.
