Apple has reported a large-scale hacker attack on iPhones in 92 countries, Komersant ukrainskyi reports citing TechCrunch.

The hackers are attacking the phones with malware to take over users’ personal data.

Apple sent an alert this Wednesday at 12:00 Pacific Time. The identities of the attackers or the countries from which users received the alerts were not disclosed.

“Apple has detected that you have been the target of a spyware attack that attempts to remotely compromise the iPhone associated with your Apple ID,”

– the warning to affected customers reads.

“This attack is likely targeting you because of who you are or what you do. While it’s never possible to be absolutely certain when detecting such attacks, Apple places a lot of trust in this warning – please take it seriously.”

– Apple added in the text, a copy of which was viewed by TechCrunch.

In the message, Apple explained to users that it could not provide additional information because this data could, on the contrary, help attackers to circumvent the new iOS security.
