ECO MARKET, together with the Tvoya Opora Charitable Foundation and Liliia Podkopaieva, absolute Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics and public figure, are launching a charity fundraiser to open a sensory room in the rehabilitation department of the Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital. The goal is to raise UAH 1.3 million, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“Psychological support and a safe environment are very important for children, especially in such a difficult time. I am confident that the sensory room will become a special place where kids can feel calmer and perceive the world more positively,” emphasizes Lilia Podkopaeva, who actively supports this charity initiative.

Growing need for psychological and rehabilitation assistance for children

Over the past year and a half, almost 2000 children have been treated in the rehabilitation department. Among the hospital’s patients are children with limited daily functioning and disabilities, as well as children affected by the war and suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

“We see how children need support to find stability and peace of mind. It is important that kids have the opportunity to adapt, especially in the current environment, when the number of families affected by the war is growing. The sensory room will help them develop skills and adapt to the world, perceiving it more positively,” emphasize the representatives of the Kyiv Oblast Children’s Hospital.

How can you help?

You can support the initiative by making a charitable contribution on the website of the CF “Your support” or by donating any amount in multiples of UAH 1 at the cash desks of all ECO MARKET stores.

“Children are the future of our country. That is why they need to be supported at any time, especially now. We are confident that the sensory room will become not just another office, but a special space that will allow doctors to use unique methods for effective recovery of the child,” comments Inna Miroshnychenko, President of the ECO MARKET chain.

The sensory room will be equipped to improve the rehabilitation processes of children with autistic disorders, psychomotor difficulties, attention deficit, increased aggression and other mental challenges. Doctors – psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists – will be able to help children more effectively thanks to the specialized equipment.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, especially in these difficult times. A sensory room is an effective way to harmonize the psycho-emotional state. And in times of war, this is especially important. Thanks to the support of our partners and all those who care, we will be able to create this unique space for those who need our help the most,” said Valeria Tatarchuk, founder of the charity foundation “Your support”.
