In the unrecognised Transnistrian Moldovan Republic, a “Congress of Deputies of all levels” was held, the delegates of which adopted an appeal to Russia to protect the PMR from Moldova’s pressure, Kommersant Ukrainsky reports

The decision of the congress consists of seven points, each of which is an appeal to an international actor. The first appeal is directed to Russia:

“To appeal to the Federation Council and the State Duma of Russia with a request to implement diplomatic measures to protect Transnistria in the face of increasing pressure from Moldova. More than 220,000 Russian citizens live in Transnistria. Russia participates in the peacekeeping mission on the Dniester and is a guarantor and mediator in the negotiation process,”

– the statement reads.

The statement of the congress says that Moldova has actually launched an economic war against Transnistria, seeks to destroy the healthcare system of the TMR, evades political dialogue, exerts all kinds of socio-economic pressure on the unrecognised republic and does not even recognise the basic human rights of local residents.

Earlier it was reported that at this congress Transnistria would ask to join the Russian Federation.

“Kommersant Ukrainsky wrote that on the eve of this congress, Russia was conducting information operations in Moldova similar to those it had conducted on the eve of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
