20 November 12:46

PrivatBank has introduced a new investment service in its Privat24 app – now Ukrainians can buy and sell domestic government bonds (OVDPs) directly from their smartphones. This was reported by the bank’s press service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The new section “Bonds” allows not only to invest but also to fully manage your portfolio of securities.

How investment in government bonds in Privat24 works

Privatbank has made investments accessible to a wide range of Ukrainians: the minimum entry threshold is UAH 1000.

In the application, you can choose government bonds:

  • in UAH
  • in US dollars
  • and in euros.

Buying bonds in Privat24 is tax-free and without additional transaction fees.

To make an investment, you need to

  • enter the “Bonds” section;
  • select the desired issue of government securities;
  • fill in the required data;
  • sign the documents using SmartID.

The bank accepts applications for the purchase and sale of bonds around the clock – 24/7.

What can an investor do in the new section

Users have full control over their portfolio. In Privat24, you can:

  • view the number and types of government bonds purchased;
  • monitor the history of transactions;
  • receive information about accrued coupons;
  • control redemption payments;
  • reinvest the proceeds in new issues of the Ministry of Finance.

In fact, PrivatBank has turned the mobile app into a digital investment cabinet.

Demand for domestic government bonds is growing: what statistics show

According to the bank, since the beginning of 2025, Privatbank clients have already invested more than UAH 21 billion in government bonds. The most popular are:

  • hryvnia government bonds for 6 and 12 months,
  • as well as dollar issues.

The bank notes that most investors immediately buy new securities after redemption, forming a “reinvestment cycle”.

In general, in 2025, Ukrainians continue to actively invest in government bonds. The increase in household investments in just over a year amounted to UAH 30.51 billion.

As of November 18, the total amount of domestic government bonds in the portfolio of individuals reached UAH 109.04 billion:

  • uAH 60.68 billion in hryvnia securities (55.65%),
  • uAH 48.36 billion in foreign currency securities (44.35%).

Thus, the structure is approaching a 50/50 split between hryvnia and foreign currency.
