Psychopath and sadist: psychologist analyzes Putin’s behavior during a direct line
23 December 2024 13:11
Putin is a psychopath with pathological cruelty and sadism. This conclusion was reached by Dmitry Popov, a candidate of psychological sciences, who analyzed the behavior of the Kremlin leader during a direct line. Many aspects of the Russian president’s speech require a detailed psychological analysis, in particular, regarding the authenticity of Putin himself, Popov said in an interview with the Youtube platform “News Factory,” according to [Kommersant].
“This double was actively working during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. His manner of behavior and ability to answer questions is different from the real Putin,”
– said Dmitry Popov.
The expert drew attention to the unusual behavior of the double, in particular, constant drawing during his speeches. It seems that he was either mechanically crossing out something or making notes, like in Schwartz’s fairy tale “To Kill a Dragon,” Popov compared. According to the psychologist, this could be a symbolic action or just a reflex.
Sadism and pathological cruelty
The psychologist paid special attention to Putin’s statements about the war.
“When he talks about ‘dzhuzhukha’ and ‘the whistle of bullets’, it is striking in its cynicism. Behind these words are thousands of dead and black bags. This is sadism of the highest level, indicating a psychopathic nature,”
– Popov explains.
At the same time, the dictator made statements about family values. The psychologist says that these attempts to look like a family man were insincere. His stories about children and family resemble political manipulation rather than a genuine desire to be a father, Popov explains.
Moreover, referring to the 155th Marine Brigade, which was particularly brutal in Bucha, Popov noted:
“This tendency to reward sadists and criminals emphasizes his morbid tendency to cruelty.”
The PhD candidate in psychology notes that Putin has no strong ties that could deter him from making radical decisions.
“He has no ties to his family or country. His interests are limited to power. This is what makes him extremely dangerous in critical situations.”

Will Putin press the “red button”?
The assessment of the possibility of using nuclear weapons sounds particularly alarming. The real Putin, who threatened and beat his chest, saying that he would blow up everyone who came into Ukraine, is capable of pressing this stupid button, a stubborn psychologist.
“Why? Because he has nothing to lose”
Dmytro Popov
Thus, after meeting with some world leaders, the Russian president changed his behavior. The most influential, according to the expert, is Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
“After talking to Xi, Putin stopped waving the nuclear baton. Obviously, Xi can influence him,”
– Dmytro Popov adds.
Other world leaders, such as Narendra Modi or Donald Trump, are less effective in deterring Putin. Popov has serious doubts that Trump will be able to effectively influence the Russian leader.
Surroundings and internal threats
According to the expert, Putin’s entourage is also a source of risk.
“His entourage are the same ghouls as he is, only of different caliber. Replacing the lord, becoming a lord yourself is sacred to such people,”
– emphasizes Dmytro Popov.
The growth of internal tensions and conflicts in Kremlin circles can lead to radical changes. In this context, Putin has even been compared to a “gopnik from a St. Petersburg back alley” who is in a constant struggle for control, the expert says.
Therefore, the dictator’s behavior and rhetoric demonstrate significant deviations from the norm, the expert says. Regardless of whether we are talking about the authentic Putin or his double, this psychopathic figure endangers not only his people but the entire world, Dmytro Popov summarized.
