11 March 09:03
Journalist, Channel 24 presenter, and now Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Artem Ovdiyenko said that for several years he has been receiving personal documents of PUMB bank customers in his email.
He wrote about this on Facebook, accusing the bank of regularly disclosing banking secrets through erroneous mailings, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
What happened
According to Ovdiyenko, the bank repeatedly sent him financial reports and other documents belonging to other customers.
He claims that:
- he regularly informed the bank about the problem;
- he asked them to stop sending other people’s documents;
- he received promises that his email would be removed from the mailing list.
However, according to him, the letters continue to arrive.
New conflict with the bank
The latest incident, according to the soldier, caused particular outrage.
He stated that the bank advised him to change his email address because it allegedly matched the contact details of other customers.
Ovdienko emphasized that:
- he is not a customer of PUMB;
- he has been using this email address for about 30 years;
- numerous digital services are linked to it.
Possible complaint to the regulator
The TV presenter also stated that he may file a complaint with the National Bank of Ukraine.
In his opinion, the situation may indicate a violation of banking secrecy and personal data protection rules by the bank.
At present, PUMB Bank has not publicly commented on the journalist’s statements regarding a possible information leak.
