Putin challenges NATO after Trump’s statement

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reacted to the remarks of US President Donald Trump, who earlier called Russia a “paper tiger.” This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Russian media.
During a speech at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club, Putin said that the alliance could “try to deal” with this allegedly weak state.
Putin’s reaction
“If Russia is a paper tiger, then what is NATO? Go and try to deal with a paper tiger,” Putin said, effectively challenging Western countries.
When asked by the host to give US President Donald Trump a paper tiger during the meeting, Putin said: “No. We have our own relations with him, we know what to give each other.”
The Russian president noted that he was “very calm” about such words.
“Then go and deal with this ‘paper tiger’. And there, you see, everything is different. After all, what is the problem today? Weapons are supplied to the Armed Forces as much as they need, as much as they supply,” Putin said.
On September 23, Donald Trump questioned Russia’s military and economic power. He called it a “paper tiger” and noted that Ukraine, with the support of the EU and NATO, could not only regain the occupied territories but also “go further.” He promised that he would supply weapons to NATO, and the Alliance would “do whatever it wants with them.”
