In an interview with Kommersant Ukrainian, political analyst Ihor Chalenko said that Vladimir Putin is trying to shift the responsibility for the continuation of the war onto Ukraine and at the same time create a positive image of Russia in the international arena.
“Putin, with his visit to Alaska, once tried to lay the foundations that would make Ukraine guilty of continuing the war, and at the same time allow him to whitewash himself,” Chalenko said.
The expert emphasized that despite Donald Trump’s hopes for a change in the Kremlin’s position, the Russian authorities are demonstratively strengthening cooperation with authoritarian regimes.
“On the contrary, the Russians are focusing on being part of a new axis – China, Russia and North Korea. In the West, it is called the “axis of evil,” the political scientist added.
According to him, it is this coordination of actions between the three states, aimed against the West and the United States, that is causing concern in Washington
