Rada wants to deal with Zhumadilov, who disrupts terms of food procurement for the AFU – deputies

on 28 February, the State Logistics Operator (DOT) of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry announced a repeated tender procurement of catering services for the AFU. The previous auctions and their results were cancelled following a court ruling. The judges, in particular, found discriminatory requirements in the tender documentation developed by the DOT. The Verkhovna Rada’s defence committee says it is closely monitoring the progress of these auctions and the activities of the new DOT in general, writes Parliament UA, citing a conversation with representatives of the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, reports Kommersant Ukraina

“At the Committee we have not yet defused this issue (procurement of food for the AFU by the DOT), because we are now considering the bill on mobilisation. But we are monitoring and seeing everything. We have seen that they have announced new food procurement. But there will be questions. Everything that they (DOT, – ed.) presented to us here earlier did not work. We have to find out what the reason is. Besides, there are now half a million in fines….. We really have a lot of questions to them,” a member of the VRU Defence Committee, Yuriy Zdebskyy, said in a commentary to the newspaper.
The Defence Ministry should finally deal with these purchases and food, the politician said.
Providing the AFU with food is a matter of national security, and accordingly such purchases can not fail – also through the fault of the customer himself.
“There is also the procurement department of the MOU. THERE IS THE DOT. The MOU should determine who will do what. We have a lot of questions for them. We will ask them for sure,” Zdebsky added.
Another deputy of the Defence Committee of the Verkhovna Rada Gennady Kasai earlier announced to the media, the summoning of the head of the DOT Arsen Zhumadilov to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
“We need to summon them, Mr Zhumadilov to the committee. I have also already made a parliamentary request to him, regarding the fact that the court has established discrimination in the DOT’s demands. I am not waiting for a response,” said MP Gennady Kasai, specifying that the tentative date for summoning DOT and IOU representatives on the AFU nutrition crisis is next week.

on 28 February, DOT re-announced the food procurements, assuring that this time it had already eliminated discriminatory requirements from the solicitation documents.
At the same time, as the publication points out, the Ministry of Defence’s requirements to suppliers clearly stipulate that the ordering of food must take place two weeks before delivery, i.e. agreements with new supplier companies, for uninterrupted supply of food to the army, must be concluded at least on 15 March .
