The Verkhovna Rada has extended martial law and mobilization in Ukraine. This is the 13th such vote. The vote was broadcast by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

311 MPs voted in favor of extending martial law, and 304 voted for mobilization.

Martial law and mobilization have been extended for 90 days – until February 7. The extension was proposed by the President of Ukraine.

The bills were presented by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksandr Lytvynenko. He said that more than 160,000 more people need to be mobilized.

“A total of 1,050,000 citizens were drafted into the Defense Forces. It is planned to draft more than 160,000 people. This will make it possible to staff military units up to 85%,” he said.

This step, according to Lytvynenko, is aimed at ensuring the country’s reliable defense capability in the current situation at the front.
