On Tuesday, September 2, the Verkhovna Rada opened its 14th session, fulfilling the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine. This was reported by Oleksiy Honcharenko, MP from the European Solidarity party, on his Telegram channel, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“The Rada has just opened a record 14th session of the parliament. Thus, the constitutional provision was fulfilled, according to which the new session was supposed to open today,” Goncharenko wrote.
According to him, on Wednesday, September 3, the parliament will begin consideration of the bills.
Members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine paid tribute to Andriy Parubiy, who was killed on August 30 in Lviv with a firearm.
MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak noted that several events took place on that day that would have symbolic significance for the Ukrainian parliament. In the afternoon, most MPs were in Lviv to say goodbye to the former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, who was killed by gunfire on August 30.

Late in the evening, the Rada, in accordance with the Constitution, began a new parliamentary session, as the rules of procedure require that it open on the first Tuesday of September.
Zheleznyak noted that this time three records were set at once:
- the latest opening of the session;
- the largest session in terms of issues and duration;
- the smallest number of MPs in the history of the parliament – as of today, there are only 396 MPs in the Verkhovna Rada.
