Radio dictation of national unity 2025: what you need to know

This year, the All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation of National Unity will be held for the 25th time. On the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, which is celebrated on Monday, October 27, everyone will be able to join the event, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The radio dictation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be available on several platforms:
- on the waves of Ukrainian Radio and Radio Kultura;
- live on Suspilne Kultura TV channel;
- on the YouTube channel of Ukrainian Radio;
- on the Facebook pages of Suspilne;
- as well as on the suspilne.radio and Diia apps.
Who wrote and will read the radio dictation in 2025
The text of the 25th All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation of National Unity will be written by Ukrainian writer Yevhenia Kuznetsova, who is the author of the novels Ask Miechka, Ladder, Sheep are Whole, and the nonfiction book about the language reality in the USSR, Language Sword. As the Soviet Empire used to say. In 2023, Kuznetsova’s novel The Ladder became the BBC Book of the Year, and in 2025 it was shortlisted for the Angelus Central European Literary Award.
“The text appears a few days before the event itself. With all the changes and clarifications,” Yulia Sheludko, the coordinator of the radio dictation and executive producer of Ukrainian Radio, said in a commentary to Suspilne on October 10.
However, on October 24, Suspilne reported that in 2025, Ukrainians will write a text called We must live!
The voice of the event will be Ukrainian theater and film actress, People’s Artist of Ukraine since 2000, TV presenter, winner of the 2008 Shevchenko Prize and the Golden Jig National Film Award Natalia Sumska.
Who can join the dictation
Anyone can join the All-Ukrainian radio dictation of national unity, both in Ukraine and abroad in different countries of the world. One of the main ideas of the event is to unite Ukrainians. At a time of full-scale invasion, when Ukrainians have fled the country to escape Russian aggression, writing a dictation at the same time can add to the sense of unity.
How and where to send the dictation for verification
Participants of the radio dictation will be able to check their text on their own after the text of the dictation is published on the websites of Ukrainian Radio and Suspilne Kultura. However, traditionally, anyone can also send their dictation to the organizers for verification. To do this, the text can be sent online or offline. It must be done by 11:00 a.m. on October 29.
To send the work online, the text should be photographed or scanned and sent in jpg, png, jpeg, tiff, pdf format to the email address [email protected]. A paper letter can be sent to the following address: 26 Khreshchatyk St., Kyiv, 01001. The postmark must be no later than October 28.
The results of the radio dictation will be announced after the commission processes and checks all the letters received. The exact date will be announced later. For example, last year the radio dictation was held on October 25, and the results were announced on December 4.
