Russian X-47M2 Kinzhal missiles attacked Kyiv on the morning of 7 October. All of them were successfully shot down by air defence forces. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the KMVA press service.
“At around 8:30, the enemy launched a missile attack on Kyiv. Previously, Russian troops used X-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K carriers. Air defence systems were operating in the capital. According to preliminary data, all air targets were successfully destroyed,” the statement said.
As a result of the missile attack, debris fell in three districts of Kyiv – Solomensky, Holosiivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi.
In the Solomensky district, the debris damaged the roof of a multi-storey residential building, one of the fragments fell on the territory of a school, the rest fell mainly on open ground. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties.
In Holosiivskyi district, a fragment damaged the roof of a car, while others fell in an open area. There were no preliminary reports of injuries.
In Shevchenkivskyi district, debris fell in an open area. As of now, there are no casualties.
For his part, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that debris also fell in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, and a minibus was damaged in Holosiivskyi district.
“In Solomianskyi district (enemy missile fragments fell – ed.) in several places in the open space, in Shevchenkivskyi district – near a pedestrian crossing. In Holosiivskyi district, in one place – on the sidewalk, in another – a fragment pierced the roof of a minibus. All services are on their way to the scene. Information about the victims and the damage is being clarified,” he said.
Later, Klitschko added that there was a fire in the Solomensky district. Possibly caused by the fall of rocket debris. Preliminarily, there were no casualties.
“Missile fragments were found near the entrance of one of the apartment buildings and in the yard of a private house. In the same Solomianskyi district, rocket fragments fell near a supermarket,” he said.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defence Council’s Centre for Countering Disinformation, said that the single Shakhtys were flying and were actually a kind of reconnaissance drone that was likely to distract and correct enemy strikes with Daggers .
“I can say that we managed to work out some things perfectly,” he said briefly.
It should be noted that September was the first month since the beginning of the war when Russia attacked Ukraine with Shaheds on a daily basis.
