There were two heavy hits during the attack on Lviv on 4 September. The death toll as a result of enemy attacks has risen to seven. This was reported by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maxim Kozitsky and Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Residential buildings were damaged as a result of enemy shelling in Lviv,” the head of the regional military administration said in a statement.

He added that all relevant services have been sent to the scene.

A few minutes later, Lviv Mayor Sadovyi clarified that residential buildings near the main railway station were on fire.

“Two schools will not start classes today: students of Arnika and 17 will stay at home,” Sadovyi said.

He specified that there are many broken windows in the area of Konovalets, Mikhnovsky and Melnyk streets. Information about the victims is being clarified.

Kozitsky arrived at the scene of one of the attacks and recorded a video message from there.

“We are in Lviv. Unfortunately, the missile attack on the territory of Lviv region was a combined one, with Shaheds and missiles. I thank the State Emergency Service for eliminating the consequences. At the moment, there are two hits on the territory of the city,” said the head of the UMA.

He emphasised that the enemy is hitting civilians, residential areas where there are no infrastructure or military facilities.

The number of victims of the attack on Lviv has already risen to seven, Sadovyi said. One of the dead is a nine-year-old girl. As for the injured, there are currently 38 of them.

The Interior Minister said that about 40 people were injured as a result of the shelling. Fifty apartment buildings and private houses were also damaged, and employees of the State Emergency Service rescued 12 people.

“Psychologists are working, and an operational headquarters has been deployed. The police are taking statements from affected residents and checking whether there are any victims in neighbouring buildings. If necessary, we will deploy the Unbreakable Points,” Klymenko added.

During the telethon, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi noted that Russian terrorists had attacked two districts of the city – Frankivskyi and Zaliznychnyi. In some places there is still fire.

“Most of the damaged objects are historical heritage. 70 buildings in total were damaged… It looks like it was a combined attack. Both missiles and drones,” said Sadovyi.

Kozitskyi said that at least seven local architectural monuments were damaged in the night attack in Lviv. In particular, on Konovalets and Kokorudza streets.

“All the buildings are located in the historic area and the UNESCO buffer zone. They are listed in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine. A commission of representatives of the city and regional cultural heritage protection authorities will start working at the sites and drawing up inspection reports as soon as the emergency services have access to them,” he stressed.

The mayor of Lviv said that several streets in the city would be temporarily closed to traffic. In particular, traffic will be restricted on Sknylivskyi Bridge and Konovalets Street.

Tram #2 will run to the railway station for now. Buses 52, 92, 21, 84 will run along a changed route – along Zbyralna Street.
