Ukraine will receive $500 million worth of weapons, equipment, and ammunition from the United States. This is the seventy-fourth tranche provided by the US administration from the Defense Department’s stockpile since August 2021. This was announced by the US Department of Defense, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin announced the package during the 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which is taking place at Ramstein Air Force Base.
This military assistance package includes:
– aIM-7, RIM-7, AIM-9M air defense missiles
– air-to-ground ammunition
– auxiliary equipment for the F-16;
– armored bridge systems;
– secure communication equipment;
– small arms and ammunition;
– spare parts, auxiliary equipment, services, training, and transportation.
During his speech at the meeting, the US Secretary of Defense also reminded that in recent weeks, members of the Ramstein Group have announced important new deliveries.
“Germany has announced that it will supply Ukraine with military equipment worth $680 million by the end of the year. Norway said it would allocate about 2 billion, and the UK allocates 3 billion annually. Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia are now among the three largest providers of assistance to Ukraine,” the US Secretary of Defense emphasized.
He reminded that the partners have created eight coalitions of opportunity led by 14 countries, including Ukraine.
“In close partnership with our national weapons directors, these new coalitions ensure that our support is coordinated, effective and sustainable,” Lloyd Austin said.
It was also reported that today the coalition leaders came together and endorsed the Coalition of Opportunity roadmaps through 2027. Thanks to these coalitions, partner countries will be able to continue to support Ukraine’s urgent needs on the battlefield.
