Repair work on the M-07 Kyiv-Kovel-Yahodyn highway (to Lublin) is nearing its final stage. On two sections with a total length of almost 2 km, which serve as entrances to the international checkpoint “Yagodyn – Dorohusk”, a new multilayer road surface has already been laid, sidewalks have been laid and an outdoor lighting line has been installed.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the report of the Reconstruction Agency.
What else is to be done?
The contractor is currently working on road markings, installation of barrier fencing, and arrangement of slopes and roadsides. The installation of road signs will begin soon.

These renovated sections of the road will soon be opened for freight traffic crossing the Ukrainian-Polish border via the eCheck system.

Financing and strategic importance
The M-07 road is being overhauled as part of a project under the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program. The EU co-finances this project in the amount of 50% of its total cost. This EU program is aimed at modernizing critical transport infrastructure that connects Ukraine with the countries of the bloc.
“Restoration of the approaches to the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint will increase traffic comfort and safety, ensure efficient communication between Ukraine and Poland, one of the key destinations for export and humanitarian cargo,” the Reconstruction Agency said.
