Forbes billionaires ranking: how many Ukrainians are in it

Five Ukrainian businessmen have been included in the annual Forbes billionaires ranking. The American magazine published the list on its website, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

In total, the Forbes-2024 ranking includes 2781 billionaires.

According to The Guardian, such a large number of billionaires has not been recorded for the entire time statistics have been kept.

In 2023, the list grew by 141 people compared to the previous reporting period. Among the “newcomers” to the richest club is, for example, the popular singer Taylor Swift.

The list is headed by Bernard Arnault, President of Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy ($233 billion), Tesla CEO Elon Musk ($195 billion), and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($194 billion).

Five people from Ukraine made the list.

The owner of SCM Group, Rinat Akhmetov, took the highest place. This year, journalists estimated his assets at $4 billion. In this year’s ranking, the businessman is on the 785th place, while last year he was on the 445th place.

Viktor Pinchuk, the owner of Interpipe, was ranked second among Ukrainians. His assets are now estimated at $2 billion, and he is ranked 1623rd.

The list of billionaires also includes Vadym Novynskyi, owner of Smart Holding ($1.2bn, 2410th place), Konstantin Zhevago, owner of Ferrexpo ($1.2bn, 2410th place), and Gennadiy Boholyubov, co-owner of Privat Group ($1bn, 2692nd place).
