On the night of Sunday, January 11, Russian troops launched repeated strikes on critical infrastructure facilities in the Zhytomyr region.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration.
According to preliminary data, two employees were injured as a result of the attack. They suffered moderate injuries and were hospitalized.
The strikes caused fires. Rescuers are working in difficult conditions, as firefighting was complicated by repeated air raid alerts. One of the fires has already been extinguished, while another is still being fought.
In addition, emergency power cuts have been introduced in the Korosten district. This was reported by Zhytomyroblenergo. Energy companies are urging consumers to unplug appliances that are sensitive to power surges.
As a reminder, on the night of January 10, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 121 strike drones from different directions. Air defense forces destroyed 94 drones. Kryvyi Rih was hit, with several infrastructure facilities damaged and two people injured.
Due to the shelling, some neighborhoods in the Saksagansk and Pokrovsk districts were left without power. Emergency services worked through the night and are continuing restoration work.
