Russian Federation attacked Odesa with shaheds: there are wounded and damaged buildings – what is known

On the night of November 21, Odesa came under enemy attack again. A series of explosions were heard in the city. The head of the city’s military administration said that the enemy attack damaged a residential building and an enterprise in one of the city’s districts, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

How the attack took place

At about 1:30 am, residents of the northern part of the city reported the first explosions. At that time, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced the movement of Shahed-type kamikaze drones heading towards Odesa from the Black Sea.

According to monitoring resources, up to 10 enemy drones were spotted in the skies over the region. The drones came in waves, causing several series of explosions. Local residents also heard the characteristic sounds of dive-bombers.

The air raid lasted 38 minutes, from 01:35 to 02:13.

Consequences of the strike

Odesa city military administration reported significant damage in one of the city’s districts:

  • part of a residential building was destroyed;
  • a local enterprise was damaged;
  • four people were injured.

Four people were injured. One of them was treated on the spot. Three others were taken to hospitals with burns and explosive injuries. They are being provided with all necessary medical care.

The response is ongoing.

Threat from the sea

The day before, the Air Force warned of Russian drone activity over the Black Sea.

The drones were flying in the direction of Odesa, Chornomorsk, Pivdenne and Chornomorsk. There is a high probability of repeated attacks in the region.

Why Odesa is under attack

Odesa and the region are regularly subject to hostile attacks due to its strategic location and key logistics on the Black Sea coast.

Russia is increasingly using attack drones at night in an attempt to breach the air defense system.
