Russian occupants tried to attack critical infrastructure in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Air defence managed to destroy all air targets. This was reported by the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Air Defence Command, Svitlana Onyshchuk, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

“The enemy attacked Ivano-Frankivsk region with attack drones. The targets were critical infrastructure facilities,”

– the statement reads.

According to the head of the JMA, all aerial targets were neutralised. The falling debris caused fires.

No one was injured.

Ilya Yevlash, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, said during a telethon that the occupiers had focused their efforts on Ivano-Frankivsk during the night attack. Enemy drones manoeuvred to confuse Ukrainian air defences.

“Among other things, they tried to bypass Ivano-Frankivsk and attack the city from different sides – north and south. They were also moving in a line to make it harder to hit them. During the alert, they used either groups or individual drones, i.e. they tried to confuse their trail as much as possible. However, despite this tactic, our Defence Forces managed to eliminate all the UAVs,”

– yevlash said.

He also said that the “Shaheds” tried to evade air defences that night bypassing hard-to-reach areas, rivers and gullies. For example, one of the drones “hovered” over water for several hours on the border of Dnipro and Poltava regions.

Russian propagandists reported that in Ivano-Frankivsk, during a morning attack, drones hit a military position. Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv denied the reports on Radio Liber ty and called them lies.

“The enemy is trying to use panic today. What they wrote is not true. It is not true. I can’t say certain things because it could harm our infrastructure… I mean, the strikes were on critical infrastructure. I also want to say that all the targets were hit, but unfortunately, there was some debris… There was, accordingly, fire and smoke,”

– said Martsinkiv.
