Russia strikes at Slavutych – the city is left without electricity

In Slavutych, the Russian army hit an energy infrastructure facility. This was reported by the mayor of the city, Yuriy Fomichev, on Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“The enemy continues to attack the country’s energy infrastructure! Another hit to the energy facility,” he wrote.
Fomichev emphasized that specialists have already begun work to eliminate the accident and restore electricity to the village.
According to the city council, water will soon be available in the homes of the townspeople.
“We are switching the water utility to a backup power supply, and water will be available soon,” noted Fomichev.
The attack did not affect the supply of heat to schools, kindergartens and medical facilities.
“Chernihivoblenergo reported a power outage in the northern part of Chernihiv region due to Russian shelling.
Kyiv regional power company announced a complete power outage in Slavutych.
“The terrorist country does not stop striking at Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. As a result of the enemy attack, Slavutych is temporarily de-energized… The steadfastness points are ready to work. All utilities are in place,” the regional authorities said in a statement.
As a reminder, the last time Russians attacked Slavutych was on October 1, when nine kamikaze drones flew over the city in Kyiv region. Two power substations – 330 kW Slavutych and 110 kW Slavutych – were hit.
The attack damaged the engine room, two transformers, a storage facility and a switchgear field. The Russian strike caused an emergency at one of the energy facilities related to the Chernobyl zone.
