10 October 09:14

On the night of October 10, Russians launched a massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The energy sector is taking all necessary measures to minimize the negative consequences. This was announced by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Hrynchuk, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“At these moments, the Russians are launching a massive attack on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. The energy sector is taking all necessary measures to minimize the negative consequences. As soon as the security conditions allow, the power engineers will begin to clarify the consequences of the attack and restore the infrastructure,” she said.

Situation in Kyiv

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the situation in the city is difficult after the strikes.

Power was cut off in parts of Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Podilskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts due to a localized power failure. Experts are already working to restore power supply.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, due to the consequences of the night attack and the lack of electricity and water supply in some parts of the city, educational institutions are operating in accordance with the emergency situation.

The situation in Kyiv region

In the Kyiv region, part of the Boryspil district lost power due to a localized power outage. Experts are already working to restore power supply.

At the same time, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration clarified that about 28,000 families in Brovary and Boryspil districts are currently without power in the region .

Schedules of emergency outages have been introduced in Sumy and Poltava regions

At the direction of NPC Ukrenergo, emergency outage schedules have been introduced in Sumy and Poltava regions. Currently, the schedules are in effect for 10 lines of consumers in Sumy region.

According to Sumyoblenergo, the reason for the introduction of the schedules is Russian attacks on the energy sector.

The power company reminded that emergency outage schedules are used in emergency cases when it is necessary to immediately reduce the amount of power consumed from the grid in a very short time.

“In such cases, it is impossible to predict the duration of the blackout because it is an emergency situation. The main reason for any restrictions is Russia’s military aggression against the Ukrainian people and damage to power facilities as a result of shelling by the Russian army,” Sumy power engineers emphasized.

Information on emergency power outages can be viewed in real time at the time of the outage in the consumer’s personal account and in the app.

“Unfortunately, it is impossible to inform consumers about the duration of the blackout when using gas-assisted devices. All restrictions are in effect until canceled by the team of NPC Ukrenergo,” the power company said.

Poltavaoblenergo reported that from October 10, 2025, from 2:55 a.m., a schedule of emergency power outages was applied in the region.

The reason for the measures is the consequences of Russian attacks on energy facilities.

The electricity distribution service will be resumed after the emergency is eliminated and the relevant commands are received from NPC Ukrenergo.

Chernihiv and the region

Chernihiv and the region will have hourly blackouts throughout the day.

According to Chernihivoblenergo, if the situation in the power system is favorable, we plan to reduce the scope of restrictions during the day.

Enemy attacked gas infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia

As a result of the Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia on the night of October 10, the city’s gas facilities were damaged. Work on the site has already begun, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration andZaporizhgaz.

In this regard, the population and enterprises of the regional center were forced to limit the consumption of natural gas. According to updated data, there should be no restrictions now.

Zaporizhgaz urged to minimize the use of gas appliances until the emergency works are completed. This is necessary to stabilize the pressure and avoid outages.

“Due to the damage to gas facilities as a result of enemy shelling, it is extremely important to temporarily limit natural gas consumption,” the company emphasized.
