The military-industrial concern Rheinmetall intends to increase the production of unmanned marine vehicles.

This was reported by Welt, citing representatives of the concern, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The article notes that the Hamburg shipyard Blohm Voss will become Rheinmetall’s main production center for combat naval drones. At the initial stage, it is planned to produce 200 drones per year, which will be remotely controlled from the shore or from ships. Then their number may be increased to a thousand units per year.

Rheinmetall is one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of military equipment and weapons. The company supplies weapons and ammunition to Ukraine on a large scale.

On December 1, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) reported in its latest report on global arms trade that in 2024, the revenues of the world’s 100 largest arms manufacturers reached a record $679 billion.
