Sharp fluctuations: how prices for fruits and vegetables have changed in Ukraine

30 September 2025 14:11

Between September 22 and September 28, the Ukrainian market saw significant price fluctuations for fruits and vegetables. Some products have risen significantly in price due to a reduction in supply, while other items, on the contrary, have fallen in price due to the seasonal supply of large volumes.

This is reported by EastFruit analysts, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The biggest jump was in carrots: their price increased from 6-12 UAH/kg to 8-15 UAH/kg.

Beetroot also became more expensive – from 5-10 UAH/kg to 8-11 UAH/kg, despite the increase in supply.

Cucumbers also continue to rise in price, now they cost 25-75 UAH/kg, while tomatoes, on the contrary, have fallen in price – the minimum price has fallen from 12 to 8 UAH/kg.

Onions fell in price from 9 to 7 UAH/kg, and white cabbage leveled off – from 5-20 UAH/kg to 9-17 UAH/kg.

Peking cabbage also fell in price – from 25-35 UAH/kg to 20-35 UAH/kg, while broccoli rose in price to 40-65 UAH/kg, and cauliflower – to 25-50 UAH/kg.

Sweet peppers increased in price, but their range narrowed from 20-60 UAH/kg to 45-55 UAH/kg. Zucchini also increased in price – from 6-15 UAH/kg to 10-22 UAH/kg.

Garlic and green onions became cheaper, which partially offset the rise in prices for other items.

Potatoes in supermarkets remained stable at 12.90-18.90 UAH/kg.

The situation in the fruit and berry segment was also mixed.

  • Early apples went up from 20-40 UAH/kg to 25-45 UAH/kg.
  • Grapes rose from 40-120 UAH/kg to 40-150 UAH/kg.
  • At the same time, pears fell in price from 20-90 UAH/kg to 20-80 UAH/kg.
  • Plums fell from 20-50 UAH/kg to 15-50 UAH/kg.
  • Seasonal berries and melons continued to fall in price. Watermelons fell from 10-17 UAH/kg to 6-20 UAH/kg, melons – from 20-55 UAH/kg to 15-35 UAH/kg.
  • Nectarines maintained their price range in the range of 50-110 UAH/kg.
  • Among imports, kiwi and oranges fell in price.
  • Mixed dynamics were recorded in berries: blueberries rose in price to 180-380 UAH/kg, while raspberries fell to 150-220 UAH/kg.

Thus, last week, Ukrainian buyers faced higher prices for carrots, beets, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower and grapes, while tomatoes, onions and Chinese cabbage, watermelons and melons became more affordable.
