Russian State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev said that work in Ukraine will be taken into account when calculating the insurance record of Russian citizens for pension calculation.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Russian media.
“On July 1, 2025, a law will come into force that establishes peculiarities of pension provision for citizens of the Russian Federation who had periods of work or other activity in Ukraine, the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Luhansk People’s Republic, as well as Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions,” Zhuravlev said.
According to him, the law provides for the possibility of including these periods in the insurance (employment) record when appointing and recalculating insurance pensions.
“The periods of work and/or other activities on the territory of Ukraine from January 1, 1991 to February 23, 2022, on the territories of the DPR and LPR from May 11, 2014 to December 31, 2022, and on the territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions are included in the insurance period,” Zhuravlev said.
The insurance period is the total duration of the periods of labor and other activities during which insurance contributions were paid to the Social Fund of the Russian Federation. The insurance period is one of the key factors in determining the right to receive an occupational pension.
