Russia attacks Odesa: 9-storey building destroyed, Privoz market on fire

On the night of July 24, Russians attacked Odesa. The enemy massively attacked the city with attack drones around 3 a.m., and there was damage to civilian infrastructure. As a result of another Russian attack on Odesa, one of the most recognizable symbols of the city, the Privoz market, caught fire. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Oleh Kiper and the press service of the State Emergency Service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“There are a number of fires in the city. So far, we know about the fire on two floors in a residential high-rise building, the roof of a two-story building, trade pavilions and a gas station. There is also damage to architectural monuments in the historic center of Odesa, which is under UNESCO protection. Information about the victims is being clarified,” Kiper said.
In turn, the State Emergency Service reported a large-scale fire at the Privoz market. All authorized services have begun to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack.
“Odesa Pryvoz is not just a market, it is the real heart of Odesa region, where life is in full swing and the pulse of the city is felt. It is there that you can truly get to know Odesa,” the rescuers said.
According to the State Emergency Service, the consequences of the Russian attack are currently being eliminated. Emergency services are trying to save the historic site in the center of Odesa from the fire.
The State Emergency Service also reported that a 9-story residential building was destroyed as a result of the Russian attack, leaving people living in apartments on the 5th to 8th floors homeless, and burning houses on the 5th and 6th floors of one of the entrances. There is a threat of structural collapse.
“Rescuers evacuated 33 residents and rescued 5 who were trapped in their apartments. Dog handlers were working at the site of the impact, searching for possible victims,” the SES emphasized.
