Russia no longer pretending to be neutral: Putin’s administration supports Iran
8 March 04:11
Russia officially supports Iran in its conflict with Israel and considers the actions of Western countries in this situation to be unjust.
This was stated by Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Sky News.
Russia’s position on the conflict
Andrei Kelin stressed that Russia does not take a neutral position in the war with Iran. According to him, Moscow stands in solidarity with Tehran and views the actions of the opposing side extremely negatively.
The diplomat noted that the Western logic, according to which Iran is the sole culprit, is flawed.
“No one is saying that the US and Israel launched an attack on Iran. Iran is only responding to this attack. It’s just unfair,” the ambassador said.
Ways to resolve the situation
According to the Russian representative, the optimal scenario would be an immediate cessation of hostilities.
Kelin stressed the need to return to diplomatic settlement and seek a peaceful solution through negotiations.
The situation around Iran
It should be noted that the situation in the Middle East remains extremely tense.
Experts note that even a large-scale war would not be able to quickly destroy the regime in Tehran. There have also been reports of internal processes taking place in the country following the appointment of Khamenei’s son as his possible successor.
In addition, against the backdrop of escalation, Donald Trump has already announced serious consequences for the Iranian regime, promising “complete destruction” in the event of further aggressive actions by Tehran.
