Russian troops are preparing for a new offensive and are choosing between several tactical directions near Avdiivka in Donetsk region. This is stated in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

ISW analysts believe that Russian troops have the opportunity to choose among many tactical directions for future offensive operations near Avdiivka, but it remains unclear where they will focus their efforts in the near future.

American experts have noted that several military bloggers have reported offensive operations by Russian troops in the Keramik area, aimed at advancing towards Arkhangelske. However, the occupiers are also trying to advance westward from the Ocheretyno area in the direction of Sokol and southwestward in the direction of Novoprokivske-Novoselivka Persha.

“Meanwhile, ISW estimates that Russia’s stabilisation of its advance northwest of Avdiivka puts the Russian command in a choice: either to continue to advance west to its stated operational objective in Pokrovsk, or to try to advance north to conduct possible additional offensive operations with Russian forces in the Chasovyi Yar area,”

– iSW analysts stressed.
