Russia may intensify strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector in the near future – ISW

In the coming weeks, Russian air attacks on Ukraine may intensify. Russia, among other things, wants to worsen the state of the Ukrainian energy sector.

This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

According to the ISW, the Russian leadership used the preparations for the summit of the US and Russian leaders in Alaska to accumulate drones and missiles. At the same time, the Russians conducted limited strikes in Ukraine to falsely present themselves as a good faith negotiator to the US administration.

“Russia is likely to step up its strikes against Ukraine in the coming weeks to use its replenished stockpile of missiles and drones and to degrade Ukraine’s energy infrastructure ahead of the upcoming winter,” the ISW report says.

As a reminder, after Russian dictator Vladimir Putin met with US President Donald Trump in Alaska, the Russian army has already attacked Ukraine several times with drones and missiles.
