Russia may try to occupy Kiev neighborhoods again – CNN

Russia is preparing for a new large-scale offensive on the territory of Ukraine, which could potentially include attempts to seize the Kiev region. This was reported by the CNN television channel with reference to sources in the US intelligence, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to U.S. officials, Moscow is actively building up forces on the front lines, particularly in eastern and northeastern Ukraine. Intelligence does not rule out that the Kremlin may target the outskirts of Kiev, repeating the scenarios of the beginning of a full-scale invasion in 2022.
The goal of the Russian side, according to analysts, is to seize as much Ukrainian territory as possible, taking advantage of any vulnerabilities in the defense line. This comes against the backdrop of diplomatic talks in Istanbul, which have so far yielded no tangible results.
At the same time, the Kharkiv operational command says that Russia has already actually launched a summer offensive campaign. The enemy is particularly active in the Pokrovskyy, Konstantinovskyy and Novopavlivka directions. Breakthroughs of Russian troops 5-7 kilometers deep into Ukrainian territory have been recorded.
In addition, there is an increase in the activity of Russian forces in the border areas of Sumy region and in the north of Kharkiv region. This creates additional risks for the northern direction of Ukraine’s defense.
All these actions demonstrate that the Kremlin has not abandoned its strategic goals of undermining Ukrainian statehood and control over key regions, including Kyiv.
Ukraine’s Armed Forces are continuing defensive operations, strengthening positions and preparing for potential new attacks. The authorities urge citizens to remain calm and trust only official sources of information.
