Russia deploys elite troops to Pokrovske direction: analysts predict a new phase of offensive

Which units were redeployed
the 155th and 40th Marine Brigades, probably together with the 177th Marine Regiment, have arrived in the Pokrovske direction.
the 11th Airborne Brigade and units of the 76th Airborne Division were previously operating in the Sumy and Kursk sectors.
the 70th Motorized Rifle Division was redeployed to the Bakhmut area due to “an urgent need for reinforcements”.
Analysts believe that the main vector of the attack may be directed towards Dobropillya – Druzhkivka, as well as towards Kostiantynivka or Siversk.
Strategic picture
According to Viktor Tregubov, a spokesman for the Dnipro military grouping, at the beginning of the summer campaign, Russia had about 110,000 troops in the Pokrovsk area, and now it has about 100,000. The new units are likely replacing those that suffered significant losses and are expected to increase pressure on the Ukrainian defense.
During a briefing on August 29, President Zelenskyy confirmed that the Pokrovsk direction is the most serious at the moment and that Russia is preparing offensive actions. According to him, the Ukrainian side is in control of the situation.
Current situation at the front
august 29: The Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped 50 enemy assaults.
august 30 (until 16:00): 38 assault attacks were recorded.
From August 7 to August 11, the Russians made a breakthrough in a narrow section of the front, advancing 15 km.
august 15: The First Corps of the Azov National Guard with attached forces stopped the breakthrough near Dobropillya, surrounded some of the Russian attack aircraft and began clearing the surrounding areas.
