Russia damaged one of the largest thermal power plants in Kharkiv: more than 820 buildings left without heating

The Russians attacked Kharkiv’s energy infrastructure for three hours straight. As a result of the enemy’s actions, one of the largest thermal power plants has been significantly damaged, and there is a threat of the networks freezing in 20-degree frost. This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“We will have to make difficult decisions. One of them is forced, but it is the only one possible. To prevent the network from freezing, we need to drain the coolant from the heating system of 820 buildings that are supplied by one of the largest thermal power plants,” Terekhov wrote.
He stressed that the enemy’s unprecedented attack on critical infrastructure leaves no choice: experts see no other way out.
In this regard, all 101 Nezlamnist (Unbreakable) points will operate around the clock in the city, where people can warm up, drink hot beverages, and charge their gadgets. If necessary, Terekhov promises to quickly deploy additional heating points.
There may also be disruptions to the city’s electric transport. To keep the city running, additional bus routes will be launched.
“This is a difficult night and a difficult morning for Kharkiv. But the city is functioning, all services are in place, and decisions are being made quickly and responsibly. We have the situation under control and will do everything possible,” Terekhov assured.
