Russia and Ukraine to exchange parcels for prisoners of war

Russia and Ukraine will once again exchange parcels for prisoners of war.

This was stated by the Russian Federation Human Rights Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova in an interview with Russian media, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The parcels will be sent to the captured soldiers by their relatives and friends.

“We are currently negotiating the contents of these parcels, the list of necessary items, and the collection of letters from our citizens for their relatives who are in captivity,” she said.

This is not the first such exchange. For example, on December 20, 2024, Moskalkova reported that prisoners of war of the Russian Federation and Ukraine received 1500 Christmas parcels each.

Following the talks in Istanbul, the Russian Federation and Ukraine agreed to exchange prisoners according to the “thousand for a thousand” formula and return all seriously ill and young (under 25) prisoners of war to each other – at least 1,000 people on each side.
