Russia hits Shostka train station with drones: many wounded

Russian drones attacked a railway station in the Shostka community of Sumy region. According to the head of the regional military administration, Oleh Hryhorov, on Saturday, October 4, a passenger train running between Shostka and Kyiv was hit, [Komersant] reports.

According to Grigorov, eight wounded were taken to hospitals. The Ukrainian online media outlet Suspilne reported 30 injured. Later, the Russian Armed Forces struck again, but this time there were no casualties. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported several dozen casualties.

In turn, the Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba clarified that the first strike was on the locomotive of the Tereshchynska-Novohrad-Siverskyi suburban train, and when the evacuation of people began, a second strike was launched, which hit the Kyiv-Shostka train.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also posted footage of the damaged train on his Telegram channel, writing: “The Russians could not have been unaware that they were hitting civilians. And this is terror that the world has no right to ignore.”

Rescuers, medics and emergency services continue to work at the site. “The scale of the destruction and the number of victims are being clarified,” said the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Mr. Grigorov. Ukrzaliznytsia reported that a cashier was injured and is being treated.
