Russia strikes at railroad in Kovel: there is damage

On the night of December 26, Russian occupation forces attacked the railway infrastructure in the city of Kovel. The attack damaged a locomotive and a freight car, and also caused damage to the locomotive depot. This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
According to him, the attack was carried out by drones.
“As a result of the UAV attack, the Lviv railway at Kovel station was damaged,” Kuleba said.
The blast wave smashed out the windows of one of the shops in the locomotive depot.
There is no information on casualties yet, the consequences of the shelling are being clarified.
Massive attack by the Russian Federation on the night of December 26
On the night of December 26, the Russian Federation carried out another massive attack on Ukraine. The enemy used an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 99 attack drones. Air defense forces managed to destroy 73 enemy drones.
During the nighttime shelling, Russian troops also attacked the energy and port infrastructure of Odesa region. The strikes resulted in damage to facilities and power outages.
In addition, a terminal in Mykolaiv region was attacked by drones, damaging a Liberian-flagged vessel. Two DTEK energy facilities in the south of Odesa region were also hit. The scale of the damage is significant and it will take additional time to restore the equipment.
Ukrainian services continue to record the consequences of the attacks and work to restore the damaged infrastructure.
