30 December 22:35
Today, on December 30, Russian occupants attacked the Black Sea port for the second time in a day. As a result, an oil tank caught fire. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) on Telegram.
“The enemy struck the Black Sea port for the second time in a day. As a result of the shelling, an oil tank caught fire. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” the USPA said.
All services are already working at the scene. The fire and shelling consequences are being eliminated.
Boom barriers have been installed at some berths to prevent pollution of the sea area.
At the same time, specialized vessels are ready to collect pollutants in case they enter the port area.
The Sea Ports Authority pointed out that with such strikes, the Russians are trying to destroy Ukraine’s logistics capabilities and export potential.
“This is another blow to Ukraine’s port infrastructure. The enemy is deliberately trying to destroy the logistics capabilities and export potential of the state. At the same time, despite the constant threat and shelling, the ports continue to operate thanks to the professional and coordinated actions of port workers and all services involved,” the Sea Ports Authority said.
Earlier it was reported that the shelling in Odesa region damaged facilities in the ports of Pivdennyi and Chornomorsk. The drones attacked the Emmakris III and Captain Karam vessels, which were entering the port to load wheat.
