Last night, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with 105 Shahed-type strike UAVs. The enemy launched from the Russian regions of Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk and Cape Chauda (occupied Crimea). The defenders shot down 78 drones, one flew towards Belarus, and another 23 were lost in different regions. Presumably due to electronic warfare, the Air Force said, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“On the night of 3 October (from 21.00 on 2 October to 07.00 on 3 October), the enemy attacked the territory of Ukraine with attack UAVs. A total of 105 enemy Shahed-type drones were detected and escorted by the Air Force’s radio engineering troops,” the statement said.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of the air battle, 78 enemy Shahed attack UAVs were shot down in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kherson, Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipro, Rivne and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
One UAV flew towards Belarus, 23 enemy UAVs were lost in different regions of Ukraine, probably due to active countermeasures by the Electronic Warfare.

“The air alert in the capital lasted more than 5 and a half hours. The enemy launched the first groups of drones before midnight, but more and more UAVs were constantly added throughout the night. “However, none of the Russian drones achieved their goal,” the KMMA said in a statement.
According to the administration, air defence forces and assets detected and shot down about a dozen attack drones in the airspace around and above Kyiv.
According to an operational report, debris was recorded falling in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv. However, the consequences were minimal – there was no damage, no fires, and no information on injuries was received, according to the KCIA.
