In the first three days of the new year alone, the Russian army used more than 300 attack drones and about 20 missiles, including ballistic missiles, against Ukrainian cities and villages. This was announced on January 3 by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“Such Russian terror, which does not lose its intensity, requires us and all our partners not to reduce activity in building our air shield, all its system elements – from Petriots to mobile fire groups,” the President of Ukraine said.
It is worth noting that on January 3 alone, several missile and drone attacks took place, resulting in deaths and injuries in Ukraine.
According to Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Russian troops struck Chernihiv with three Iskander-M missiles. The shelling killed a man of 72 years old. According to journalists, he was an associate professor at the Institute of Postgraduate Education, Oleksiy Halonka. He received a shrapnel wound to the head, incompatible with life. In 2022, the man had already suffered from a Russian attack: he lost his home.
In total, as of 21:00, there are five known wounded as a result of the rocket attack on Chernihiv. More than 10 private houses were damaged.
Meanwhile, in Kherson, a building housing the Lithuanian consulate was damaged by shelling.
In Donetsk region, Sloviansk came under fire from the Russian military. The occupants attacked the private sector of the city, first with a guided aerial bomb with an UMPC module. At least 14 private houses were destroyed and damaged. Among the wounded are a 50-year-old man, two women, and a two-year-old boy.
On January 3, the occupiers also attacked Stepnohirsk, Zaporizhzhia region, with Grad multiple rocket launchers. As a result of the attack, a man was killed and his wife was hospitalized with injuries.
“As a result of the enemy shelling, residential buildings were destroyed. A fire broke out. A pensioner was killed, his wife is in hospital with injuries,” said Ivan Fedorov, head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
