As of January 2024, the amount of direct damage caused by Russia to Ukrainian infrastructure reached $155 billion. This figure was announced at the Kyiv School of Economics as part of the Russia Will Pay project, according to

The housing stock suffered the most from Russian aggression. Russia destroyed and damaged residential buildings worth $58.9 billion.

The second place goes to infrastructure, which suffered $36.8 billion in damage. The KSE did not specify, but it can be assumed that this refers to transport infrastructure.

Losses to industry and businesses totalled $13.1bn.

“According to the latest data, 78 small, medium and large private enterprises, as well as 348 state-owned enterprises, were destroyed or damaged,”

Losses in the energy sector amounted to $9 billion, in the agriculture sector – $8.7 billion, in the housing and utilities sector – $4.5 billion, and in the healthcare sector – $3.1 billion.

In early January 2024, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal reported that Ukraine’s total losses from the war now exceed $700 billion.
