On the night of August 28, Russian troops attacked Kyiv, striking at the Bayraktar drone factory, which was being prepared for launch by a Turkish company. This was reported by Ihor Zinkevych, co-founder of the Varta-1 NGO and a member of the Lviv City Council, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to him, two direct hits were recorded on the territory of the enterprise. As a result, the production facilities suffered significant damage, but the exact extent of the damage has not yet been determined.

“Despite the war and previous attacks, the company continued to invest tens of millions of its own funds, train staff and prepare production. Most of the facilities were almost ready, and the key personnel have completed their training,” emphasized Zinkevich.

He added that this is the fourth attack on the Bayraktar plant in the last six months.

The plant in Kyiv is a strategic project, as it was supposed to become the base for the production of modern Bayraktar TB2 and TB3 drones, which are actively used by the Ukrainian military at the front. The launch of the enterprise was seen as an important step in strengthening defense-industrial cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey.
